sad song

Okay, so I had my Zune on "shuffle all", and this song comes up.  I'm half-listening because I am eating lunch and playing on Facebook.  Then I start to realize this is a sad song!  I suppose it is one way to get revenge on a lover who's broken your heart.

Hoh River

Posted by Picasa Thought this was the Sol Duc River, because we crossed that a million times in our trip, but GooogleMaps says it's the Hoh River.  :)  It empties into the ocean.

Link between MMR & Autism based on false data

The Times of London has revealed that the study, published by Lancet, a British medical journal, which links autism and the MMR vaccine was faked. I found it interesting that so many people were willing to believe this study on its own, when the study had such a small sample - 12 families. However, Hot Air notes that even though the sample was small & others tried to recreate the same results and came up empty, the public still believed the study and vaccinations dropped. Now two children have died from measles, something that should have never happened in our 21st century world.
I have friends who don't vaccinate. While I respect their decision, I don't understand it. The problem I have is that they are not only putting their children at risk, but they are putting humanity in general at risk. Measles are a virus. We've already seen cold viruses get stronger, more resilient, due to people using antibiotics and the virus adapting. Measles was gone, now it has the opportunity to adapt, to change, to become a stronger, harder-to-get-rid-of disease. The threat that the terrorists were developing ways to spread diseases through the air and other means didn't phase me much 'til I realized there are people who aren't vaccinated anymore!!!
Technology & science have come so far. We no longer fear for our children dying of simple things like consumption (pneumonia) or bigger things like polio. The mortality rate of kids has increased exponentially. It wasn't that long ago that you had to wait until a child was over 5 or 6 to know for sure they were going to really live.
Anyways, I digress. Read these articles and see for yourself. The MMR vaccine is a good thing. :)

a wolf track?

Ok, so it was really a dog's footprint, but I thought if I got close enough, I could make it look big and people would think it was a wolf-print! :) (I'm such a nerd!!)

driftwood @ the ocean

I don't think I saw Bella & Jacob's tree, but there was a lot of driftwood to cross in order to get to the water's edge!

my beautiful ocean

God is so cool. Forks is supposed to be *THE* rainiest area ever, but we were blessed with two days of bright sunshine. The ocean was magnificent! I love the ocean.

This was me!

You Were an Outgoing Kid

When you were a kid, you had no problem expressing yourself.

There's a good chance you started talking early - and never stopped!

You had a lot of friends, and unlike most kids, you weren't shy around adults.

You were well adjusted and confident. You enjoyed speaking up and participating.

What Kind of Kid Were You?

When my mom was here to visit, she said Nicholas was a lot like me when I was little because he talks and talks. :)

I could be Magnum, P.I. :o)

You Are a Red Pen

You have an eagle eye for detail, and this often means you end up finding mistakes in people's work.

You may seem quick to criticize or correct, but you think accuracy and truth is important.

You like to be involved in every project. You feel like you put the polishing touch on things.

You would make a good editor, detective, or accountant. When facts matter, you're the person to call on.

What Office Supply Are You?

Beautiful Sound

Turn the page.
Can't turn the light out.
Every word, every line
Carries to my soul.
Dark letters on a page
Singing so loud.
Where did I go wrong
Not to hear You?

Eighteen years,
I guess it was all right.
I let You do the thinking,
I'd just bide my time.
Father to son
Sunday hand-me-down.
Where did I go wrong
Not to hear Your song?

It's a beautiful sound
Moving through the crowd.
Voices lifted up
On high for You.

It's a beautiful song.
We've only just begun to understand.
Rediscovering You.

To have found You, and still be looking for You,
It's "the soul's paradox of love."
You fill my cup, I lift it up for more.
I won't stop now that I'm free.
I'll be chasing You
Like You chase me.

It's a beautiful sound
Moving through the crowd.
Voices lifted up
On high for You.

It's a beautiful song.
We've only just begun to understand.
Rediscovering You.

Oh, something so beautiful.

It's a beautiful sound
Moving through the crowd.
Voices lifted up
On high for You.

It's a beautiful song.
We've only just begun to understand.
Rediscovering You.

It's a beautiful sound
Moving through the crowd.
Voices lifted up
On high for You.

It's a beautiful song.
We've only just begun to understand.
Rediscovering You.

It's a beautiful sound
Moving through the crowd.
Voices lifted up
On high for You.

It's a beautiful song.
We've only just begun to understand.
Rediscovering You.

Something tells me it's all right.
You know it's gonna be all right.

new song

The Newsboys have a new song! It's called "In the Hands of God". You can listen to it here - www.facebook.com/pages/newsboys-official/33108412065. It's a good one. :)
I was listening to music this afternoon and I heard Michael W. Smith's "Come to the Cross". I like that one, too. Do we focus too much on ourselves in our worship?
This weekend, some girlfriends & I went to Forks, WA. The trip there was beautiful. I was constantly reminded why I love it here. God is so amazing & His beautiful creation just makes my heart sing. Today in worship, I couldn't stop thinking about how boundless the beauty of His creation is. I'll post pictures soon of my trip!!
