Neat site
Was referred to this website last week. It's pretty neat. I like that it isn't just for dieters, but it is to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle. That is one thing I am learning - I need to change my lifestyle, not just my eating habits. And I can't just lose the weight & expect to keep it off if I go back to eating the old way!
I also like the menus because they give you healthy choices within the range of your daily goal. However, you can add whatever you have eaten that day (they have a vast database of food!! They even had Jack in the Box burgers!!)
Anyways - check it out & tell me what you think!!

Jef said Ruby looks like a commercial. :) Here the boys are playing on the east side of the van (to be out of the wind). I'm on the other side of the van. You can see how rough the ocean was and how gray the sky was. :) 7.26.06

Nicholas eating lunch in the back of the van. We had cold chicken, raisins, animal crackers and water. :) 7.26.06

Daniel making a sand castle (they were only ever this big). 7.26.06

makin' tracks

Jonathan & Daniel digging in the sand. I am glad I had Daniel and Nicholas wear pants!! It was a very blustery day.

Ocean Day! We went to the coast on Wednesday. The heat has been unbearable here, so we thought we would cool off at the coast. Of course it was freezing at the coast!! The sky was overcast & the water was rough. We are hoping to go back later on this summer. Maybe then we will actually get to play in the water!
Daniel's owie
This is Daniel's sore. You can see it is healing well. The stitches are almost all gone. :) We're still keeping it covered, so this is a sneak peak!! :)

Our front steps. Our sage bush and thyme (with some oregano mixed in) are on the left as you look at the picture. Flowers are on the steps. To the right is a big pot with chives & a tomato plant, and a smaller pot with Jonathan's cherry tomato plant & some more flowers.
Some funny (or not so funny) things ...
happened recently. I say "some not so funny" because I cannot gauge whether you will find these funny or not!
This morning, I received an e-mail once again purporting money would be received if we forwarded the message on to all our friends. :) Still isn't true - how nice it would be to just sit at the computer and earn money!! :)
Yesterday we drove around some; it was VERY hot. Ruby has air conditioning, so it was nice! :) We needed to get gas because she was down to 1/8 of a tank. [the warning light came on, you know ;) ] Gas is pretty expensive here, but thankfully in town it hasn't gone over $3 yet (it has on the peninsula - Gig Harbor & Bremerton, etc., and in Seattle, I think). We decided to go to Fred Meyer to get gas because I had reward points on my card that would give us $0.10 off per gallon. Gas was $2.95/gallon at Freddy's, so that was good. Well, Jef used the debit card like we always do, and started pumping. It got to $35 exactly and shut off! We didn't know what was wrong until we saw the sign. For some reason (to prevent stealing?!) they only let you get $35 of gas on your debit card! If you pay at the window, or use a credit card, you can go as high as $75. So we were kind of bummed because we'd only put in 12 gallons of gas, and we thought the minivan would need like twenty. I think it is a 17-gallon tank, but am not sure. ANYWAYS. We were bummed too, because the rewards were one-time things, or so we thought. Jef tried the reward card & debit card again, and -
Praise the Lord!!
The gas was still ten cents off!!!! :) That was our gas adventure.
The last funny thing is this - we decided since it is so hot and we have a reliable car now, that we should go to the coast. Well, we decided to go on Wednesday, since Jef has a meeting today. This morning we woke up to overcast skies and a much cooler day (it has been HOT - like 96 with 50% humidity!!!). Of course the weather would change since we decided these things!!!
Our new van!

Here is our new van!! God totally blessed us with the ability to get a new vehicle. We found this, a 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan, would suit our needs! It seats 7, has removeable seats, and a little extra room in the back. Very low mileage - just under 72,000. The people we bought it from replaced the transmission, put on new front brakes & took really good care of this car. It hardly looks used inside! It doesn't have power windows or anything super fancy, but has all we need! (power windows break, anyway!!) Nicholas is so excited to have it, he keeps asking to go for a ride in it every day!!
We are so thankful we were able to get a reliable car. We actually bought it on Monday, but we had to have it checked out first. So we had that done on Friday, and now it is ours!! :) God is good!! It even has a CD player!!
