Conversation with Nicholas
We were in the van tonight, driving home from McDonald's (we'd gone and had supper there to help support the American Cancer Society. They had a "take over" at McDonald's.). Earlier in the day, Nicholas had been corrected for interrupting a conversation.
Jef and I had been talking, and we finally paused. We were almost home.
"Mommy," Nicholas says (rather tentatively, too).
"Yes, Nicholas"
"Okay, I have two questions." he says. "First, why do I have a cookie (he says it 'coo-key') in my box? And two, what's that thing with a long neck like a zebra?"
"Huh?" I reply.
"A giraffe?" Jeff ventures
"Yeah!" Nicholas exclaims.
Jeff and I talk some more, then there is a pause.
"But Mom, why do I have a cookie in my box??" Nicholas asks.
He's so cute. I just had to share. :)

new quilt
We've been married 12 years now, and haven't had new bedding since we were married! This summer, when we went camping, our fitted sheet ripped. :( So we didn't have any sheets for our bed.
God blessed us with some extra money this month, so I found some 400-count sheets on sale at Target ($12.99/sheet) and bought them. Then I went to Penney's and bought a quilt, because our old comforter was worn out.
Here are pictures of my new quilt!
Jonathan's new do
Jonathan decided his hair was "too messy" and he wanted a flat top. So we finally got him to the barber shop when it was open! Here's his new hairstyle -
he was showing how big the burger was :)
this was taken later - at Daniel's soccer practice, and I am not sure if he'd put goop in his hair to make it stand up.
