Conversation with Nicholas
We were in the van tonight, driving home from McDonald's (we'd gone and had supper there to help support the American Cancer Society. They had a "take over" at McDonald's.). Earlier in the day, Nicholas had been corrected for interrupting a conversation.Jef and I had been talking, and we finally paused. We were almost home.
"Mommy," Nicholas says (rather tentatively, too).
"Yes, Nicholas"
"Okay, I have two questions." he says. "First, why do I have a cookie (he says it 'coo-key') in my box? And two, what's that thing with a long neck like a zebra?"
"Huh?" I reply.
"A giraffe?" Jeff ventures
"Yeah!" Nicholas exclaims.
Jeff and I talk some more, then there is a pause.
"But Mom, why do I have a cookie in my box??" Nicholas asks.
He's so cute. I just had to share. :)
